Express and Echo 1 December2007
I find the jailing of the English teacher Gillian Gibbons by a Sudanese court totally unacceptable, Echo, November 30. She has been found guilty of insulting the Islamic religion for calling a teddy bear Mohammed.
I support the Islamic Human Rights Council in this country in calling for her release and I hope the faith leaders in Exeter will also condemn the sentence.

Religion is an insult to human dignity. With or without it, you'd have good people doing good things and evil people doing bad things, but for good people to do bad things, it takes religion.
